Marina Chan

Executive Director, MIT Hong Kong Innovation Node

Marina Chan began her career in banking at Merrill Lynch for the Asian equity business before earning her master’s degree in education from Harvard University. She has worked with students from K-16 and young professionals across Asia and the US through her experiences in teaching, advising student startups, and leading professional development workshops. With a grant awarded by the Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fund, Marina founded Alpha Commons in 2015, an educational program cultivating creativity in children through engagement with technology.

She is a board member of the Hong Kong Red Cross Hospital Schools and is a CFA Charterholder.

Charlotte Lam

Education Program Manager, MIT Hong Kong Innovation Node

Charlotte focuses on program management, communications and marketing at the Node. Prior to joining the Node, she worked at the Fung Group to help drive global employee and community engagement, focusing on internal campaigns, communications and events. Charlotte has launched numerous initiatives addressing social issues, from environmental concerns to health and well-being. Charlotte holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Edinburgh.

Nick Tsang

Program Manager, MIT Hong Kong Innovation Node

Nick focuses on supporting entrepreneurship initiatives at the MIT HK Node, where he leverages his skills in technology, product design, and problem-solving to inspire innovation. Before this, he was at the Hong Kong Productivity Council’s Inno Space team for two years, working closely with startups, schools, and students. After that, he also contributed to business development and marketing at an NLP-focused tech startup. Today, he is also channeling his entrepreneurial spirit into founding a startup in the music tech industry. Nick holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs and Political Science from Northeastern University.

Jesse

Technology Risk & Cybersecurity Consultant, Ernst & Young Hong Kong

Jesse has a growing interest in product management & technology innovation within various industries from EdTech, Web3.0, FinTech, to People Development. Graduated with a BSc. in Quantitative Finance along with a minor in Entrepreneurship & Innovation, she started her career as a technology product manager for various startups within Asia (Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore) and is currently a Technology Risk & Cybersecurity Consultant in EY.

Having a passion in rediscovering the world through different lenses and to create an impact for a better tomorrow, she’s currently developing her people development startup that aims to overcome the barriers of information asymmetry in the world helping people to pursue their interest and realise their full potential.

Laura Ng

Laura is a second-year Economics student at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), where she specializes in business economics and data analysis. Her academic journey is marked by a keen interest in the intersection of economics and technology, as she has also undertaken studies in computer science. This multidisciplinary approach equips Laura with a robust analytical skill set and a deep understanding of both economic theory and data-driven decision-making processes. Her proficiency in both fields positions her well for tackling complex economic problems with innovative solutions.

Lucas Lim

Investment Analyst, Hedge Fund Research, HSBC Global Asset Management

Lucas is passionate about the financial markets, technology and entrepreneurship. He loves to find solutions to real world challenges alongside other passionate practitioners. At HSBC, Lucas is responsible to find the best Hedge Funds across the Asia Pacific region and creates investment research reports for the global team. He regularly meets with founders of Hedge Funds to discuss financial markets and investment opportunities. Prior to HSBC, Lucas co-founded an e-commerce startup in Hong Kong where he managed everything from product, marketing and business. Lucas graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Science in Global Economics and Finance.

Ryan Lee

Ryan, a Computer Science graduate from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), combines his strong foundation in business and risk management with a focus on systems, network, and cybersecurity. With three years of entrepreneurial experience, he founded and serves as CFO of a Health and Education Technology company at the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks (HKSTP). Ryan excels in strategic planning, financial management, and business development. His dedication extends beyond the business realm; as a passionate athlete, he represented the Hong Kong, China Athletics team as a national javelin thrower at the Asian Throwing Championships.
